Trombonist • Saxophonist • Multi-instrumentalist
Live brass, touring stages, and a healthy disrespect for easy keys.
Rahul Joshua Thomas — better known as RJT — is one of India's rare contemporary trombonists. A multi-instrumentalist who plays six instruments, DJs, produces, and has collaborated with over 50 artists across the country and around the world. Touring since 2014, with over 1,500 live shows and counting.
He's the brass behind Anirudh Ravichander's Hukum World Tour, filling arenas from London's O2 to Sydney's Qudos Bank. He's who Benny Dayal trusts on stage night after night. He co-founded Clown With A Frown — India's only pop/funk brass outfit — and SaxBox, because why not mix beatbox with horns.
From the Commonwealth Games in Australia to Lollapalooza India, from Coke Studio sessions to the Bombay Chamber Orchestra — RJT moves between worlds with the kind of fluency that only comes from genuine musical depth.
Stage clips, studio sessions, and the occasional proof that brass can do things people don't expect.
Over a decade of working with artists, bands, orchestras, and projects across every genre that'll have a trombone.
The artists and ensembles RJT has shared the live stage with.
From Bengaluru soundchecks to arena stages on four continents.
Touring since 2014.
